My love affair with cheese
By glassvisage
So StudyLogic interviewed 6,500 business travelers for a study, and 35% of the respondents answered that they would take their PDA or Blackberry over their spouse. Ouch.
Well, with that in mind, here's a not-really-relevant question to think about: cheese or sex? This is a matter my friends and I have entertained on a few occasions, and in many of those instances, we have come to the same conclusion easily: cheese.
Cheese is amazing.I love how it feels when it's melted, and it tastes great no matter what form it's in. The flexibility is great; you can eat it plain, you can melt it, you can add it to other foods, and so on. There's a cheese for everyone, whether you like strong-tasting cheese, gooey cheese, crumbly cheese, universal cheese... Cheese is everywhere in the world, and every culture has found some way to implement the item into their diets.
So many of my favorite foods include cheese. Pizza is a great example. There are multiple levels on which you can dine on cheese... it can be as simple as cheese and crackers or four-cheese lasagna.
I can't really think of anything I would rather add to many of the things I eat. I love it on my salads... in fact, it's probably the only way I can eat a salad; I love Greek salads, but only for the feta.
If I'm eating something that already has cheese, I see no reason why I should add some to the top. Have you ever had macaroni and cheese with real cheese melted on top? If you ask me, that's the only way to go.
Everyone loves cheese... well, I can't think of anyone I know who doesn't like it. Kids love it, and that's something that can't be said for everything. String cheese was a staple of my childhood, and now I like to think I'm sophisticated enough to have developed a taste for more expensive cheeses like gorgonzola and gruyere. I know I'm impressed with I see something on a menu with a cheese I've never heard of.
The downside to this love affair? My cholesterol is pretty high. It's unfortunate that I can't put cheese on top of oatmeal or a bowl of Cheerios...
So cheese or sex? Just remember, like chocolate, cheese will always be there when you need it.

Glassvisage, don't worry about cholesterol. Cheese is better for you than Cheerios!
You think? Huh...
I'm a vegetarian, and although most people think vegetables are my main source of food and nutrition, they are not: cheese is. I really couldn't live without it. All of my main courses involve cheese: cheese & veggie quesidilla, grilled cheese, cheese pizza, cheese & veggie sandwich, cheese crackers, mushrooms stuffed with cheese, cheese pasta, etc... (I never said I was a HEALTHY vegetarian.)
WOW!! I thought I was the only one with the love for cheese. You're absolutely right, it's wonderful and the best food have cheese on it!
My favorite midnight snack is a quesadilla!
On Sunday (every Sunday) Cheese, fried onions and tomato toasted sandwiches between four.
Saturday Melted cheese on bread for two.
Love cheese.
Well over 500 grams a week.
please do not tell anyone. If you come around unexpectedly, more than likely we serve Cheese Toasted sandwiches. Every one likes them
It's true, Anne, a lot of people match vegetarianism with healthy eating... but I know that's not true, what with my love of pastries and cheese...
Karlyn, I was just thinking of a quesadilla, and here it is 10:22 p.m.!
MrMarmalade, your weekend eating sounds delectable. It's amazing how great the simple cheese on bread can be!
Cheese is very addictive. Google "Cheese addictive" and see what you get. It has small amounts of morphine made in the cow's liver, so it makes perfect sense it has the effect on you that it does.
Mmmm one of my all time favorite meals remains a grilled American Cheese sandwich and Campbell's Tomato Soup. ... Heaven~!
What a fun hub! You have another fan!
LOL Cheese or sex? I enjoyed your hub!
